Hands-on means really hands-on

Lawyering

“Sorry, this is urgent.”

A senior manager of a corporate client called. Normally, she would text first to check if it’s convenient to speak, but that day, she called right away. I could sense the anxiety in her voice.

She explained that her management had instructed for an announcement on a corporate exercise, scheduled to be made to the stock exchange that day, to be put on hold until certain parts were clarified. We quickly went through the areas of concern, and in about 20 minutes, we finalized the wording. The announcement was made that day, as planned.

When I tell clients that I’m hands-on in their work, I really mean hands-on. I’m truly involved in helping clients resolve issues and ensuring things move forward smoothly, even under pressure.

Moments like these remind me how valuable it is to have the experience and autonomy to make decisions, without additional layers of approval, so I that I could act swiftly and deliver the results clients need.
